REV. DR. MARY JOHNSON, TH.M., D.MIN.
Executive Director
Dr.
Johnson brings extensive experience to her position. Her Doctor of Ministry
Degree in Psychology and Clinical Studies from Andover Newton is unique in its
integrative emphasis on psychology, clinical work, and theology. A Master's
Degree from Boston University School of Theology combined a Dual Integrative
Major in Pastoral Counseling and Biblical Studies. Psychology, history, and
education were areas of concentration for a B. S. from Black Hills University of
South Dakota. Dr. Johnson has served on the counseling staff of New England
Memorial Hospital and Middleton Pastoral Counseling Center in Mass. and Renew
Counseling Center in N.H. She also has extensive parish experience and has
pastored in Congregational, Methodist, and Assembly of God churches. In
addition, Dr. Johnson has worked in Hospital Chaplaincy at Bon Secours Hospital
and Tewksbury State in Mass. and was appointed to the Clinical and supervisory
Staff for the training of Chaplain Interns while at Tewksbury. Dr. Johnson is a
Nationally Board Certified Counselor (N.C.C.) and is a Certified Member of the
American Association of Pastoral Counselors (APCC). She has been certified as a
Clinical Member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (A.C.P.E.)
and is a N.H. State Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She has been
included in Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals and is a member of the
Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Rev. Johnson has served as
an Ordained Minister since 1975. She has been listed in Who's Who In Religion
and has extensive teaching and supervisory experience. Dr. Johnson is available
for clinical assessments, evaluations, and diagnosis. She is skilled in
individual, family, marital, and group counseling.
REV. PATRICIA A. RAINEY, M.Ed.,
C.A.G.S.
Staff Counselor &
Chaplain
Rev. Rainey offers diversity and
flexibility. Her B.S., M.Ed., and C.A.G.S. were all completed at the University
of New Hampshire in
Psychology and Counseling. Ms. Rainey is a Licensed Guidance
Counselor and Certified Teacher in New Hampshire and has had extensive
counseling experience in the public schools and as a staff member of Renew
Counseling Center in New Hampshire. She has served as an Assistant Professor of
Psychology at Cleveland State College in Tennessee. Rev. Rainey is the Author of
"Illusions: A Journey Into Perception" which received critical
acclaim. She is the recipient of a Ford Foundation Grant and holds credentials
as a Nationally Certified Counselor with the N.B.C.C. She is a member of the
American Counseling Association (A.C.A.) and has been listed in Who's Who. She
is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God and has served as Director of
Green Pastures Counseling Center in Dover, NH. Rev. Rainey currently also serves
as Chaplain of Good News and is available for prayers and special services.
LINDA FEALEY, B.A.
Administrative Manager
Linda Fealey is a Certified Professional Manager
(CPM) through the Industrial
Management Council and has a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Business Management from
Franklin Pierce College, in Rindge, NH. She has served as the coordinator of the
HCBC (Home and Community Based Care Program) for Home Health Care Hospice and
Community Services in Keene, NH. She has extensive experience with Hospice and
is a Certified Nurses Aide (CNA). She has taught Business Seminars at Keene
State College and has extensive experience in non-profit management and
organizations. She has been actively involved in Federated Community Churches
and has a Congregational background. Her skill, experience, and clinical
versatility provide a valuable dimension to the fulfillment of our mission at
Good News of healing and restoration.
SU MCKINNON, A.S., B.S., M.Ed.
Counseling Director
Staff Counselor
Su McKinnon is the Counseling Director at Good
News with a strong background in Family Systems, Individual, Family, and Marital
Counseling,
Conflict Resolution, and Anger Management. She specializes in
working with children, families, and adults. She holds an Associate Degree in
Mental Health from Greenfield Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology
and Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, and a Master's of Education
Degree in Counseling from Keene State College. Ms. McKinnon is a New Hampshire
State Licensed Guidance Counselor. She has taught religious education for 10
years and sits on several non-profit Boards of Directors on both the state and
local level. Her memberships include The American Association of Christian
Counselors (A.A.C.C.), New Hampshire School Counselors Association (N.H.S.C.A.),
American Counseling Association (A.C.A.), and the American Psychological
Association (A.P.A.). She is a certified Eucharistic Lay Minister in the
Catholic Church and is certified in Alcohol Education and works actively with
adolescent substance abusers and their families and is skilled in counseling in
diverse areas including depression, anxiety, and stress disorders.
REV. PAUL BURHOLT, MSW, STB
Staff Counselor
Is a N.H. State
Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Master’s degree from Yeshiva
University in New York, NY. He has a B.A. from Kings College, University of
London, and has
completed advanced Graduate Study at Oxford University in
Oxford, England. Additionally, Rev. Burholt holds an STB in Theology from
Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. Rev. Burholt is an ordained priest in the
Orthodox Church and holds pastoral responsibilities in Claremont, NH. He has
served as a Clinical Social Worker with state and private agencies in Vermont
and Massachusetts and as a clinician at Charles River Hospital West.
Additionally, he has had extensive experience in Hospice and as a hospital and
prison chaplain and has served in parish pastoral ministry in England and
Germany. Father Burholt specializes in marriage counseling, anger management,
bereavement, and depressive disorders.
GWYNETH TOLMAN,
BA, MA
Staff Counselor
Gwyneth
Tolman has completed her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch
New England Graduate School in Keene, NH. She is actively involved in the
Congregational Church and is a skilled musician. Gwyneth brings a variety
of experiences to her counseling work and is compassionate, focused, and
creative in her approaches. She is a member of the American Counseling
Association and is skilled in individual, family, and marital counseling.
LISA WETTIG, B.A., M.A.C.
Staff Counselor
Has a diverse
background with a Master’s degree specializing in Christian Counseling from
Cincinnati Bible College in
Cincinnati, Ohio and a B.A. in Psychology from Mt.
Holyoke in S. Hadley, MA. She has worked in Clinical Christian Counseling in
Kentucky and Ohio and served as a Youth Minister at Price Hill Baptist Church in
Ohio. She has also done work at Northern Kentucky Alcohol and Drug Council in
Florence, Kentucky. She specializes in women’s issues, marriage and family
counseling, children, parenting, spiritual issues, and DSM IV-R clinical
disorders. She is trained in Intakes and Assessments and is a member of the
American Counseling Association. Lisa has a diverse denominational background
and has been actively involved in Presbyterian, Baptist, Vineyard, Church of
Christ, and Evangelical Free Churches.
DR. MARY KELLY SUTTON, M.D.
Medical Consultant
Dr.
Sutton is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has partial residency in
Pediatrics. She is in private practice as a Primary Care Physician in Keene, NH.
Dr. Sutton is a graduate of the Medical School at the University of Missouri
with over 25 years of medical experience. Dr. Sutton has a diverse base of
experience as a physician in New Mexico, Virginia Beach, Abu Dhabi,
Peterborough, NH, and the Rose Bud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She is
affiliated with the Christian Community Church and is committed to a Holistic
approach to healing.
STAFF INTERNS
Well-qualified
counselors are accepted on the basis of promise and commitment and serve as
Counseling Interns on Staff when involved in Graduate School Psychology and
Counseling Professional Programs. All Interns have a Bachelor’s Degree and
counseling experience and are under extensive supervision. They are well
qualified for counseling in a wide variety of areas and offer diversity and
depth.
JENNIFER L. BURNS, AA, BA
Staff Counselor Intern
Jennifer L. Burns is a counseling intern,
from Antioch New England Graduate School, completing her Masters Degree in
Applied Psychology. She has finished all of her courses except her
internship. She has an Associates Degree, in Human Services, with a Major in
Mental Health, from the New
Hampshire
Technical Institute in Concord, New Hampshire. She also has a Bachelors
Degree in Human Services, on a Social Work and Counseling track, from Franklin
Pierce College at one of the satellite campuses in Concord, New Hampshire. Ms.
Burns did her previous internship at the Office of Youth Services and Hillsboro-Deering
High School in Hillsboro, New Hampshire. Ms. Burns has an extensive
experience working within many different areas that include: domestic violence,
the chronically mentally ill, juvenile delinquents, the court system, anger
management, relationship groups, developmental disabilities, welfare reform, and
substance abuse. She is also trained by the state of New Hampshire to
facilitate groups for adolescents with issues pertaining to substance abuse.
Through the years Ms. Burns has been very active in the Hillsboro United
Methodist Church. She was a voting Equalization Member for conference, taught
Sunday school, did child care, and was a guest speaker at the Methodist Church’s
Annual Conference.
ELIZABETH
BORCHERS, BA
Clinical Manager
Elizabeth has worked in a
diversity of work settings and is skilled in non-profit managemen
t,
computer technology, religious education, prayer group leadership, and church
secretarial work. She has earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from
Colby College in Waterville, Maine and has served in non-denominational,
Methodist, and Assemblies of God settings. She is skilled in phone counseling
intakes and clinical case file management and brings compassion and competency
to her work.
